This work was made fully on Unreal Engine 5.4.2.
It contains the study of the volumetric light, composition, render.
Very fast work, liek a sketch.
It also might be interesting as a game concept.
Hi everyone!
I decided to post a quick sketch of a diorama in UE.
It was interesting to independently assemble some interesting lens distortion in the engine and see how it works.
As a result, here are several points that will help you save time later:
It's better to assemble and test the distortion on a light background, perhaps the standard camera checker is better suited. Since in a dark environment, the distortion factors are not very visible, and you can overtighten. I, for example, then adjusted after rendering. I had to re-render.
- Don't use too high distortion values
- Combine with DoF and chromatic aberration
- The latter is important not to overtighten, but also not to undertighten. Here, of course, it is best to see on the final render.
It was also interesting to work on the composition of the frame.
Another important point, small details should be given attention. For example, don't neglect decals, they add the necessary details and some noise for the background, blurred by the DoF.
Here I also tested the work of the modular control rig that appeared in 5.4. It's a very handy thing, but not yet perfect.
